Product Overview
ZwickRoell HTM High-Speed Testing Machine Servo-Hydraulic Crash Simulation & High Strain Rate Testing Systems (25 kN to 160 kN) The ZwickRoell HTM series servohydraulic high-speed testing machines determine strain-rate-dependent material properties and mechanical crash behavior over a wide velocity spectrum. Capable of piston speeds up to 20 m/s (72 km/h)—exceeding standard Euro NCAP frontal impact crash speeds (64 km/h)—these systems deliver the dynamic material data and constitutive equations required for numerical crash simulation and structural finite element analysis (FEA). Each HTM testing machine functions as an integrated single-source system comprising an ultra-stiff load frame, high-speed hydraulic actuator, safety housing, high-speed testControl electronics, and testXpert software. --- Key Features & Advantages * Strain-Rate-Dependent Testing: Covers speed ranges from extremely slow Quasi-Static rates up to 20 m/s for high-velocity puncture, peel, shear, and crash simulations. * Impulse-Resistant Frame Construction: Built with an extremely stiff load frame engineered specifically to absorb severe impulse peaks during high-speed fracture events. * Complete System Integration: Fully integrated layout matching the hydraulic power pack, safety enclosure, high-speed actuator, and high-frequency data acquisition electronics. * Elevated Temperature Testing: Supports high-speed tensile testing up to 1,000 °C to evaluate hot-stamping alloys and thermal crash performance. * Optional Component Testing Platforms: T-slotted base options permit structural component mounting, dynamic crash testing, and multiaxial fixtures. --- Technical Overview * HTM 2512 Model: * Maximum Force: 25 kN * Maximum Piston Speed: 12 m/s * Actuator Location: Lower Crosshead * Typical Applications: Polymers, polyurethanes, plastic test plates * HTM 5020 Model: * Maximum Force: 50 kN * Maximum Piston Speed: 20 m/s * Actuator Location: Upper Crosshead (Optional T-slotted platform) * Typical Applications: Plastics, metallic sheets, car body panels, fiber-reinforced composites * HTM 8020 Model: * Maximum Force: 80 kN * Maximum Piston Speed: 20 m/s * Actuator Location: Upper Crosshead (Optional T-slotted platform) * Typical Applications: Automotive steel/aluminum panels, composites, structural sub-assemblies * HTM 16020 Model: * Maximum Force: 160 kN * Maximum Piston Speed: 20 m/s * Actuator Location: Upper Crosshead (Integrated T-slotted platform standard) * Typical Applications: Heavy metals, car body structures, belts, structural automotive components * Applicable Testing Standards: ISO 6603-2, ASTM D3763 (Instrumented Puncture), ISO 26203-2, SEP 1230 (High Speed Tensile), ESIS P7-00 --- Target Applications * Automotive & Crash Safety: High strain rate tensile testing on car body sheet metals (AHSS/UHSS), structural aluminum, and crash-box components. * Fiber-Reinforced Composites & Polymers: Instrumented puncture and dynamic tensile testing on polymer matrix composites and automotive interior trim. * High-Speed Joint & Component Testing: Dynamic shear, peel, and crash impact testing on welded joints, structural adhesives, and safety belts.
